Our customers have asked, "Is there a way to “pause” the time associated with that a Dispatch?"
The concern is the Response Time being artificially inflated when it's close to the end of the day or weekend.
While there is not currently a way to 'pause' the response time on an open Dispatch, we have had requests to enable that functionality.
Relative to response time, someone will need to be dispatched to stop the response time clock
So, in this situation, you could dispatch someone to the Dispatch.
You can also create a site specific Dispatch Status like, "Idle Overnight" or "Idle Weekend", and then set the status to your newly created Site Status.
This way, if you wanted to reconcile the amount of time that dispatches were held overnight or over a weekend, you could run the reports to be able to calculate the more accurate total event time (down time).
For the overall event time, if you are concerned with that time carrying overnight and falsely increasing the event downtime, you could:
- Assign a resource to capture who should work on the event the next day
- Complete the Dispatch (don't Close it)
- Next operation day, create a follow-up dispatch of the same dispatch type to continue the work.
- The "Complete" action will stop both response and event time
