We’ll walk through the configuration for the Andon use case.
Site Setup
-
Site Properties Enabled:
-
Dispatch: Includes "Dispatch Me" for users to log time against dispatches.
-
Technician Portal: Set as the default dispatch view.
-
Dashboard & Documents: Dashboard used for machine monitoring; documents module is optional.
-
Experimental Features: Enabled.
-
Role-Based Homepage: Enabled for selected roles; can be extended to all.
-
Hierarchy Setup
-
Assets (Areas, Lines, Machines): Provided by the customer. Ensure all relevant machines are set up.
-
Shifts: Must be NON_OVERLAPPING (e.g., Day, Second, Third). Assign shifts to the correct lines. One shift should end at the same time that another begins. When we're in here, under the lines assigned to this shift, we can simply select which lines would be expected to be running or operational during that time.
Resources & Users
-
Trades: Add resource groups (e.g., Maintenance, Mechanic) and set a default trade for dispatch responses.
-
Users:
-
Resource Users: For personnel who are going to be expected to respond to these downtime events and record their time against them, we want to set them up in the Resource user group. Assign the site and resource site to their profile.
-
Standard Users: Anyone who is simply recording the stoppage event, entering the dispatch, can simply be a User in the user group here, and they do not need to have any resource sites.
-
-
Roles: Set up based on customer needs (e.g., Operator, Supervisor) and enable the role-based homepage layout.
Dispatch Types

-
Code Red (Downtime):
-
Indicates full stoppage; one dispatch per machine.
- Impact to Production: Down (Red)
-
Highlights critical machines.
- Available for selection in New Dispatches, as well as the Operator Portal and the Operator Console.
-
Optional: Reason codes, action codes, component codes (can be required or optional).
-
-
Code Yellow (Impacting, Non-Stoppage):
-
Used for issues affecting performance but not stopping production.
- Impact to Production: Impacting (Yellow)
-
Downtime starts when the resource is dispatched and work begins.
- Available for selection in New Dispatches, as well as the Operator Portal and the Operator Console.
-
Similar options for action, reason, and component codes; generally not required, but may be enabled.
-
Additional Features
-
Quick Dispatch Button: Enabled via dispatch type settings for OpConsole and OpPortal.
