Stay Informed with Dispatch Watch
The new Dispatch Watch feature is now available in both Dispatch Portal and Classic, making it easier to stay up to date on the dispatches that matter most to you.
What is Dispatch Watch?
Dispatch Watch allows users to watch or unwatch individual dispatches so they receive notifications when key updates occur. This helps technicians and managers quickly stay informed without having to manually check dispatch details.
How It Works
Once you’re watching a dispatch, you’ll receive notifications for the following events:
Status changes (for example, when a dispatch moves from Open to Working on or Machine Up)
Assignment updates, To reduce manual setup, the system will automatically add you to the watch list when a dispatch is assigned to you.
Managing Your Watch List
You can manually watch or unwatch a dispatch at any time from the dispatch view.
Unwatching a dispatch will stop future notifications for that dispatch unless you are reassigned.
Where Notifications Appear
All Dispatch Watch notifications appear in the Notification Center, accessible via the bell icon in the upper-left corner of the application.
Originally, users had to actively monitor the Notification Center to stay informed. However, we’ve since increased the visibility of status changes by integrating them with your existing notification workflows.
Multi-Channel Support: Receive notifications on the channels you already use, such as Email, SMS, Web Browser, Web App, and WhatsApp notifications.
Customizable Settings: A new Watch notifications dropdown has been added to your notification settings. This allows you to define exactly how you want to receive updates, specifically for the Dispatches you are watching.
Stay Informed Anywhere: Notifications are sent based on your personal preferences, so you can stay up to date on your mobile device or desktop without needing to reference the Notification Center.
How to Enable
Navigate to your Notification Settings.
Locate the Dispatch Watch section.
Select your preferred delivery channels (e.g., Email, SMS, or WhatsApp) from the dropdown menu.
Current Limitations
For this initial release, Dispatch Watch notifications are limited to:
Dispatch status changes
Dispatch assignment events
Additional notification types may be considered in future updates.
FAQs & Troubleshooting:
- It will not create a notification for a dispatch you’re watching if you’re the one editing it.
- You may need to refresh your page for the red dot to show up on the bell icon.
