Setting Up User Notifications

Last updated: July 14, 2026

This article walks you through how to configure individual notification settings so you can stay informed about real-time shop floor events.

Accessing Notification Management

  1. Navigate to the Setup menu.

  2. Select User Notifications.

  3. Use the search bar and filter controls to locate the specific user you want to configure, then click on their profile.

  4. Click Add New in the upper-right corner of the User Notification bar.

Step 1: Choose Site and Delivery Method

  1. Select the Site for which you want to receive notifications.

  2. Choose a Delivery Method:

Note: For Browser, Teams, or WhatsApp to appear as options, the user must have a valid email or MS Webhook already configured in their user profile.

Step 2: Select the Notification Type

Choose what event triggers the alert:

  • Site / Area / Line / Value Stream / Technology: Triggers alerts based on events tied to these physical or structural locations.

  • Machine: Triggers alerts for events associated with a specific machine or sub-asset.

  • Reason: Triggers alerts based on specific downtime/scrap reason codes.

  • Dispatch Awaiting Resource: Sends an alert when a dispatch remains unassigned.

  • Resource Idle: Sends an alert if a resource has been idle for a designated period.

  • Dispatched Resource: Notifies you every time a resource is dispatched to a specific Dispatch Type.

  • Assigned Resource: Sends a notification directly to you when you are assigned to a Dispatch.

  • Line Total Downtime: Sends alerts when total cumulative line downtime reaches a threshold during a shift or day.

  • Past Due: Triggers when scheduled events or work orders exceed their due date.

  • Notification Groups: Uses pre-defined group settings to determine triggers.

Step 3: Configure Time, Shift, and Repeat Thresholds

  • Time in Minutes: The delay threshold before sending an alert.

  • Occurrences per Machine: Triggers a notification only after a machine has failed a specific number of times.

Example: If "Time" is set to 240 minutes and "Occurrences" is set to 1, you will be notified when a machine is down for 240 minutes. If "Time" is 0 and "Occurrences" is 3, you will be notified once a machine goes down 3 times within a 24-hour period.

  • Repeat Interval: Set how often to resend the alert if the issue is not resolved.

Example: If "Number of Repeats" is set to Infinite and the "Repeat Interval" is 60 minutes, you will receive an alert every hour until the machine is brought back online.

Note: For repeat notifications, only dispatches updated in the last 30 days (or those with an active due date) are processed. Idle dispatches older than 30 days are automatically excluded.

  • Shift and Days Filters: Specify the shifts and days of the week you want to receive alerts. Use Start and Stop times to narrow this down further (e.g., to send text alerts during the day and email-only alerts at night).

  • Machine Criticality: Filter alerts by Critical Machines Only, Non-Critical Machines Only, or Both.

  • Notify on Complete: Check this box to receive a confirmation alert when the dispatch is resolved.

Troubleshooting: Blank Notification Screens

If you click a user's name in Notification Management and the screen is blank:

  1. The user may have no active notifications configured.

  2. The user has disabled their own notifications from their personal user profile home screen. The user must re-enable notifications on their profile before an administrator can edit or add rules for them.

Note: Assigned Resource notifications will not trigger if you manually assign a dispatch to yourself.
