The Start Shift and End Shift buttons were added to the Operator Portal for plants who don't always start producing product at the beginning of the first pitch, or who do not produce parts up until the end of the last pitch in a shift.
What They Do
The Start Shift button does the following: 1. Splits the current pitch at the current time. 2. Inactivates all pitches in the shift prior to the split with no actuals or operator count.
The End Shift button does the following: 1. Splits the current pitch. 2. Inactivates all pitches in the shift after the split with no actuals.
Enabling the Start Shift and End Shift Buttons
The buttons are enabled for each line. This makes it possible to have a mix of lines with and without the buttons. From the Line Detail screen, check the box next to "Enable the Start/End Shift Buttons in the Operator Portal."
Once enabled, you'll see the Start and End Shift buttons above the current shift block on the Operator Portal.
Troubleshooting
If you don't see the Start Shift and End Shift buttons, try the following:
- Ensure the buttons are enabled on the Line Detail screen.
- Ensure you have shifts set up correctly on the Line Detail screen. Check all shifts that apply, making sure that you don't have overlapping shifts.
- Feature only works if the shift start time and pitch schedule start time matches exactly. For example, if your second shift starts at 3:00pm, your pitch must start at 3:00pm.
