L2L Analytics FAQ

Last updated: October 21, 2026

Answers to the questions customers ask most often when they start building in L2L Analytics.

Access and data

I don't see the Analytics button. How do I get access? Access is controlled by your L2L Analytics role. Ask your site administrator or L2L Customer Success Manager to check your role. See How to update Roles in L2L Analytics.

Can I report on data from outside Dispatch? No. Analytics reports on data in Dispatch. Dispatch modules such as Kaizen, 5S, skills, and lean tools have datasets you can report on when you use them.

How do I know which dataset or column to use? Start with the Dispatch and Checklist with Answers datasets, which answer about 80% of common questions. For everything else, use the Analytics schema documentation, linked from the Support page in Dispatch. It maps each dataset to its table and describes every field.

Why does my chart show other sites? Analytics shows data for all sites. Add a site name filter to your chart or dashboard.

Can I write my own SQL? Yes, with SQL Lab. It is hidden by default. Ask your CSM to turn it on for your user. Creating a chart from a SQL query requires the Primary Creator role or higher.

Charts and dashboards

Can I make the red-tag bar red? Not with a built-in setting today. You can choose from built-in color themes. Exact colors per category require custom CSS, which an AI assistant can help write, or you can bring it to office hours.

Can I drill down like in Power BI? Yes, through cross-filtering. Click a value in one chart, such as a pie slice or a table row, and the other charts on the dashboard filter to it.

Can I see upcoming scheduled checklists, not just completed ones? This depends on when scheduled checklist records are created. Bring this use case to office hours to work through it.

Can dashboards be emailed to me on a schedule? Not today. Open the dashboard and choose the period you want, such as Last week. To leave a dashboard on a shop floor screen, set it to auto-refresh.

Getting help

  • Office hours: L2L holds weekly Analytics office hours for hands-on help. Ask your CSM for the booking link.

  • Your CSM or L2L Support: Access, roles, and SQL Lab requests.

  • Apache Superset documentation: L2L Analytics is built on Superset, so its how-to guides apply.
