In the Production Module, there are various methods of tracking scrap or defects.
Scrap by Default
In the Edit Details box, you'll see a field for scrap. This is the basic Production Module setup for scrap and is used by simply entering the quantity in the field.
Scrap by Category
You can also track scrap by category, by enabling the Line Setting 'Enable Collection of Scrap Numbers by Category' and by further filtering the available scrap categories for that specific line.
The scrap field is now broken down by each category with a place to enter the quantity for each.
Scrap by Product
You can track scrap by Product on Lines where you make multiple products simultaneously, also called Concurrent Build. To do so, an L2L Support Rep will have to enable Product Order Groups as well as Product Orders. After that is complete, a Site Admin can 'Enable Product Order Groups' in the Production Settings and by specific lines. The Line setting is defaulted to Can Produce One Product at a Time, but if you are using Product Order Groups on a line, you'll want to enable Can Produce Multiple Products at the Same Time.
To add scrap by Product, select the product from the dropdown and input a quantity.
Scrap by Machine
An L2L Support Rep can enable Scrap by Machine for you. A Site Admin can then Enable Scrap by Machine for specific Lines in the Line Settings.
In the Edit Pitch Details Modal, you'll now see an Add Scrap section with a Machine dropdown, Scrap Category dropdown (if enabled), and a Quantity field. Simply select the machine and scrap category, along with the quantity, and hit "Add Scrap". You can select the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons from the chart to increment or decrement quickly.
You can add scrap to several machines and categories for the same pitch. You can also retract scrap by using the minus (-) button next to the machine scrap in the chart or by reselecting the machine, category and using a negative scrap amount in the quantity field and pressing "Add Scrap" or "Save".
Now that we've reviewed how to enable scrap by Category, Product, and Machine individually, you can use that knowledge to do a combination of any or all of them - Scrap by Category and Product, Scrap by Category and Product and Machine, Scrap by Product and Machine, Scrap by Machine and Category.
