Some facilities may have larger machines with smaller machines associated. We now have the option to have a "parent machine" and a sub-asset for the machine.
Setup
- Navigate to the Machine Setup under the Setup menu.
- Your parent machine options are based on machines assigned to your line
- You will see the dropdown option for the Type - select Sub Asset
- You will then see an option for the parent machine. Note: if you do not see your machine listed, make sure your Parent Machine and Sub-Asset are assigned to the same line.
When viewing your machine list under list view. You will notice the header for Machine - this is the 'Parent Machine' column.
Also when viewing the machine list, you now have the option to filter by machine type - Sub Assets
When a sub-asset is down, it does not necessarily mean that the entire machine is considered down. The downtime reports will reflect the specific sub-asset that is experiencing downtime. If a machine has multiple sub-assets and only 1 sub-asset is down, the downtime will be recorded for that particular sub-asset, not the entire machine. This allows for more precise tracking and reporting of downtime for each component of the machine.
If spares are used on a sub-asset, they get charged to the sub-asset not the parent machine.
