In order to help provide an accurate pulse on the status of production on a line, L2L prorates metrics that are calculated using Demand, Planned Production Minutes, or Planned Non-Production Minutes. This means that we only use the portion of these contributing metrics for time that has passed in the current pitch.
The following metrics are prorated on the Operator Portal totals bar, the Pitchboard totals bar, pitch metrics on the Pitch Board, and the Site, Area, and Line Production Status Dashboards:
Let's say the first pitch of a week has a demand of 60, and has 60 minutes planned production minutes. Simply put, the Line should produce one part per minute. After the first 10 minutes, the Line should have produced 10 parts, so the demand in the Line totals section would register as 10 minutes in both the Week to Date, and Current Shift sections. We will then calculate all other metrics using 10 for the demand.
Once the pitch is complete, we no longer need to prorate the contributing metrics since the entire duration of the pitch is in the past. So, continuing with the same scenario, at the end of the first pitch, the Line's total demand would display 60.
