Action & Component Codes: Edit them, make them specific, use them to troubleshoot and improve

Your site has set up Action & Component Codes, but you can't see the edit screen and are not able to make any changes. What is going on here? 

When you can't see the option to edit Actions & Components, they have been set up as the default for the entire site. Have no fear! The solution is easy! Provided you have Admin access in L2L, just un-check the 'Default code for entire site' box and see what happens.

You can now tailor Action Code by Area, Line, Machine, Technology, and Dispatch Type. 
The same applies to Component Codes. 

This gives you a great deal of flexibility which allows you to hone in on problem areas and identify opportunities for improvement.

Pro-Tip: Just remember that Action and Component must always be utilized together. They have been designed to function as a coupled verb and noun respectively.
