If you want to keep track more closely of which PMs Impact production and possibly down time versus which PMs do not, here's an easy way to do that. You likely already have at least one Dispatch Type for PMs. If not, now is a great time to add one or more.
If you know that certain PMs require that equipment is not running when the PM is performed, you can configure that Dispatch Type as Impacting. Likewise, if certain PMs can be performed without taking down or locking out equipment, the corresponding Dispatch Types can be Non-Impacting. If certain components must be secured prior to beginning PM work which will be performed outside of production, think shut-downs and weekends, those specific PM Dispatch Types can be configured as planned.
These are easy changes that can really enhance your tracking and reporting. Happy PM'ing!
