Special Characters in L2L Hierarchy Codes

USE OF SPECIAL CHARACTERS IN L2L CODES 

While some fields in L2L allow special characters, such as Descriptions, comments, and notes, no Codes in L2L accept Special Characters. The reason is that Special Characters perform functions when included in programming, so their use is not allowed. The same reason you can't use Special Characters in file names.  

Special Characters are non-alphabetic and/or non-numeric. The most commonly seen examples of Special Characters include @  #  $  %  &  + ,  ;  ?  [  =  ^ }  *

Here are some Handy Tips:  

If it's an alphabetical character, it's not a special character.

If it's a numerical character, it's not a special character.

If it's anything else, it's probably a special character. 

If you have to hit alt, shift or control to use it, it's probably a special character.
