A customer recently contacted us with a concern because they were not able to assign an employee as an OWNER on a new Kaizen, even though that employee had sufficient authorizations within the Kaizen Module to be an Owner. The employee's username was not available for selection in the drop down options for Kaizen Owner.
We have encountered this same situation with respect to Work Orders. Any Module where assignment as an Owner or Approver requires notification via email. It can take a while to narrow this down, because we often forget to start at the beginning.
In order for any person with an L2L account to receive email notifications, they must first have a valid email address associated with their account. This usually begins with a lot of head scratching and ends with a big "Aha!" moment when the omission is discovered.
If you are not able to find an Owner, Approver, etc. in the drop down selector, or if someone is not receiving these types of notifications via email as expected, check their user profile and make sure a valid email address is included with their account. It's a simple housekeeping item that is easily overlooked.
