Poka-Yoke: a Japanese term that means "mistake-proofing" or "inadvertent error prevention". A poka-yoke is any mechanism in a process that helps an equipment operator avoid mistakes and defects by preventing, correcting, or drawing attention to human errors as they occur.

SCADA: (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) is a type of software used in manufacturing to control large processes. Usually includes methods to gather data and methods to control equipment.
Six Sigma: Set of techniques and tools for process improvement. Invented by American engineers Bill Smith and Mikel Harry in 1986 while working at Motorola. A Six Sigma process is one in which 99.99966% of all opportunities to produce some feature of a part are statistically expected to be free of defects.
SQDC: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost - An important component of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. Refers to a SDQC board placed in a process area, readily visible, to quickly convey how the process if performing again these 4 categories. The 'C' can also signify 'Customer'. 'M' is often included for 'Morale', as is 'E' for 'Environment'.

TPM focuses on keeping all equipment in top working condition to avoid breakdowns and delays in manufacturing processes.
