How to Set Up Recurring Maintenance Schedules with Fixed Intervals
Last updated: July 10, 2026
The Scheduler module allows you to create recurring preventive maintenance (PM) tasks and dispatches that automatically repeat at regular intervals. This guide walks you through setting up a recurring schedule using a fixed interval.
Note: You must have manager permissions within the Scheduler module to create and configure schedules.
Creating a Recurring Fixed Interval Schedule
Navigate to Scheduler > All Schedules and click Add New.
Fill in the required fields:
Name: Enter a descriptive name for the schedule.
Dispatch Type: Select the appropriate type of dispatch.
Trade: Choose the applicable trade.
Comments: Add any optional notes or context.
Estimated Hours: Enter the expected duration of the task.
Owner(s): Assign the individual(s) responsible for the task.
Under Schedule Type, select Fixed Interval. (Other available options include One Time Event and Floating Interval.)
Configure the timing settings:
Interval Type: Choose how the interval is measured — options include Days, Hours, Cycles, Calendar Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Yearly, or Shifts. For example, to run a task every 30 days, select Days and enter 30.
Launch Date: Set the date when the schedule should first begin.
Due Date: Set the date by which the task should be completed.
If using a shift-based interval, select the specific shift on which the schedule should launch.
Select the Machine(s) that the schedule applies to.
Optionally, enable Do Event Shadowing to automatically attach relevant documents to the generated dispatches.
Click Save to finalize the schedule, or Save And Add Document(s) if you want to attach documents at this time.
Tips for Common Use Cases
Monthly maintenance tasks: Use the Calendar Monthly interval type to trigger tasks on a consistent day each month.
Every 30 days: Use the Days interval type and set the interval value to 30.
Assigning tasks to specific individuals: Use the Owner(s) field to designate the responsible person(s) for each recurring dispatch.
Once saved, the scheduler will automatically generate dispatches at the configured interval, helping ensure preventive maintenance and audit tasks are completed on a consistent, automated schedule.
